I’m on board with visiting a museum each month – first up, the Susan B Anthony House this Saturday!
And eating local afterwards at ButaPub.

Thanks for the shout out for the Johnston House and Mike Weaver Drain Tile Museum! Don’t know what drain tile is or why it matters? We’d love to see you this summer (the museum doesn’t open until May), but you can also watch our curator’s brief account online here: https://genevahistoricalsociety.com/collections-and-research/digital-collection/video/genevas-stories-john-johnston-drain-tile/

Enjoy the Upstate history of agriculture you didn’t know and didn’t know mattered!

Great suggestions on how to really make 2018 an amazing year by exploring our upstate region! Thank you for the shout out to Mohawk Valley Museums Consortium! Glad you took the suggestion based off our twitter conversation! We know quite a few reaaaally great museums too!

    We’re also on Facebook (isn’t everybody?) http://www.facebook.com/TheMVMC/

    Thank you Chris!

Chris, thank you so much for this wonderful entry. I’ll be putting this list to good use in 2018. I just saw your nod to Etsy and I ended up using it as part of a pair of Christmas gifts for my mom and sister and their families. We rented a house in Rainbow Lake last summer and took a trip to Whiteface Mountain and ended up having someone take a few great shots of us at the peak. Not thinking ahead to Christmas, it didn’t occur to me to look for frames while we were there. I must have gone to every Adirondack website but I couldn’t find any ADK-themed frames until a Google search brought me to Etsy and a man in Malone who had two wonderful frames fashioned from branches and tree bark. They were a big hit on Christmas morning!
