Hi! I like your site and my daughter, Jan Milliman, has told me a bit about your group. Here’s a thought about that curved ceiling in the Baptist Meeting House at Heritage Square: I’ve seen this sort of thing before. The curved ceiling allows for a little more height in the room, as it fits inside the pitch of the roof. Gives a larger “feel” to the place and also enhances the acoustics, which was important back before electrical systems, when the preacher and the choir had to make themselves heard without amplifiers.

Looking forward to your next feature.

I would like to know as soon as you have scheduled the 2015 Heritage Square museum pioneer days/ice cream social which was Aug. 17th 2014. I am from MI but could schedule a visit to my daughter’s and gr daughter’s in Camillus around that time in 2015.
    Thanks

Ah, my two favorite things. Architecture, and big old trees. As a lost Wisconsinite living in Texas, I loved the old Maple.
