This Day in History: 1925-06-14

A statue of Major General Philip Schuyler is unveiled in front of Albany City Hall. Sculpted by J. Massey Rhind, the statue was unveiled by Mayor Hackett. On June 11, 2020 Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan signed an executive order to remove the statue citing Schuyler’s history of being one of the largest slave owners in the Albany area.
