The ska band Mighty Mighty Bosstones plays a show at the Horizontal Boogie Bar. The dancing crowd is too much for the bar, and the floor collapses. The band later immortalized the event in their song “How We Got Away” with the line, “In upstate New York, Rochester perhaps, Maybe you witnessed the dance floor collapse.“
