1844 The Town of Rosendale, New York (Ulster County) is formed by annexing portions of New Paltz and Hurley.

1976 Polaroid Corporation files a patent infringement case in U.S. District Court of Massachusetts against Kodak. Later in 1985, it was found in court that Kodak did indeed infringe on seven of Polaroid's patents, and Kodak's hand in the instant camera industry immediately ended.

2008 The fourth annual Tora-Con, an anime convention hosted at the Rochester Institute of Technology, features guests Austell "DJ Asu" Callwood, Geek Comedy Tour, Carrie Savage, and Unicorn Table.
